An extraordinary visual narration
17 June – 11 September, 2016

Palazzo della Ragione Fotografia hosts William Klein: The World His Way, an exhibition tracing the American photographer’s articulated artistic career, that began over 60 years ago in Milan. An innovative and transgressive genius of the international photography, who worked in any field, from graphics to painting, from photography and cinema to writing. The exhibition is divided into nine sections, starting with the early works that takes the visitor on a route all over the cities photographed by William Klein in his entire career, and focusing on the different means of expression he exploited.
In Milan Klein began to act as an experimental and conceptual artist. The exhibition moves then to the section dedicated to New York, an extraordinary visual narration of Klein’s city and one of the most important works in the history of photography. Klein creative approach lead him to Rome, Tokyo, Moscow, and Paris, the city where he has been living for several years. From Fashion to Painted Contact Sheets where painting and photography are mixed, to cinematic direction which concludes the exhibition path.
