|Hermès presents “Step Into the Frame” for the Spring-Summer 2019 Men’s collection, as a graphic world turns from imagination into a reality for one-night-only. Under the direction of Véronique Nichanian, Artistic Director of the Hermès Men’s Universe, a former sorting office will be transformed beyond recognition. Featuring the work of Dutch cartoonist Joost Swarte, comic books come to life to create an immersive, interactive experience.
The shapes were modern but based on 181 years of Hermès savoir faire and 30 years of ‘Nichanian’ experience. There was a tracksuit, but you couldn’t call it sportswear—unless your sport of choice is looking like the ultimately understated contemporary man of leisure. The energy of pure colour mixes with the poetry of muted overtones and dynamism that make a unique palettes and dreamy.
|Models were joined by a street casting of London personalities to tell the story of an English Hermès man. The H-fronted sports sandal is the master piece of the Maison Hermès for the menswear wardrobe.
The fashion show is accompanied by a series of activities and installations: neon spaces, an observatory with telescopes to discover the patterns from the iconic Hermès ties and a disco club with a jukebox as well, to spend the evening with a selection of vinyls.
Step Into the Frame is at once a celebration of Hermès’ irreverent spirit and sense of fun and an opportunity for discovery.
