Picasso.Mania at Grand PalaisParis #PicassoMania

7 October, 2015 – 29 February, 2016

Picasso Mania is an exhibition organized by the Réunion des musées nationaux, from October 7th until February 29th at Grand Palais in Paris, with the intent to simultaneously take the visitors trough a thematic and critical path of Picasso’s artistic career.
His name gradually became iconic and this exhibition it’s focused on his works thanks to the collections preserved at the Picasso Museum in Paris, the Musée National d’art Moderne and even the artworks that belong to the artist’s family.

All Picasso’s works are presented, during this exhibition, with an arrangement that vaguely resembles the one of his studio and other exhibitions that he personally supervised in the earl 70’s. While admiring all the emblematic works of Pablo Picasso, painted in the stylistic phase of Cubism, we can also view other contemporary creation, that are here put alongside to show the great influence of a single persons on other important artist like Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, David Hockney, Jasper Johns, Maurizio Cattelan and many others.

This exhibition is an homage to Pablo Picasso’s artworks, life and his passion for paint because like he admitted in an interview in 1959:

“WILL YOU KEEP ON PAINTING MUCH LONGER?”
“YES. IT’S MY MANIA.” – PABLO PICASSO
