Tilton Gallery opened American icon David Lynch's first solo exhibition in New York since 1989 on Tuesday. Lynch's paintings cross several different mediums; sculpture, photographs and works on paper to name a few. These narrative hybrid paintings exhibit human emotion, humor and violence. Also to note, all of the artwork is framed in thick gold, Francis Bacon-inspired frames. This exhibit is a must-see and is on view until April 8th with an opening reception with the artist on March 16th, 6-8pm.
