depths of the sea to those of the subsoil.

Pirelli HangarBicocca presents CITTÀDIMILANO, Giorgio Andreotta Calò‘s solo exhibition curated by Roberta Tenconi: an archipelago of past and new works, collected for the first time together, that radically transforms and reconfigures the exhibition space. The exhibition route generates stories and visions of different times and places, from Venice to Milan, from the depths of the sea to those of the subsoil.

An integral part of his artistic methodology is the constant reworking and reconfiguration of his works according to the geographical and cultural context in which they are exhibited: for CITTÀDIMILANO the artist focuses on his sculptural practice, presenting in close dialogue works made since 2008 and here conceived as part of a single landscape, which transforms the perception of the environment and highlights the links between the works themselves. An invitation to visitors to create their own path within the exhibition and their own connections. For the occasion Giorgio Andreotta Calò has also researched the history of the Pirelli company, conceiving specially new works, which bring to light unpublished narratives of the past, linked to the city of Milan, but which relate to themes and places already present in the work of the artist.
