David HockneyRoots of the Future

The British artist has questioned the nature of
picture and pictures-making challenging their conventions.

Widely regarded as one of the most successful and recognizable artist of our time David Hockney is celebrated by Tate Britain with an extensive retrospective that focuses on his achievements in painting, drawing, print, photography and video. On view from February 9th to May 29th, 2017, it shows how playing with parody, representation and artifice the British artist has questioned the nature of picture and pictures-making challenging their conventions. The witty and brilliant invention of Hockney’s classic works is explored, including his portraits of family, friends and himself, as well as his iconic images of LA swimming pools. The exhibition will later tour to Paris and New York.
